They are significantly brighter, with much more vivid colours than current TV’s too. LG introduced their 15″ 15EL9500 OLED TV last year but for various reasons never made it to the North American market.

Rumors abound about larger LG OLED TV models coming soon and Hisense offering a 15″ model. Time will tell how soon OLED TV tecnology is readily available as there are still huge production difficulties to overcome along with the sticker shock found with these TVs. Stay tuned for OLED TV updates.

• The LG 15EL9500 OLED TV was released in Europe only, and never saw North America
• The Sony XEL-1, the first OLED TV is no longer available and Sony has no firm plans to manufacture other OLED TVs.
• Samsung is still showing various OLED concept TVs but has nothing available to consumers
• The LG 31″ OLED TV is promised to us next spring (2011) at a cost that should deter most consumers
