This is an incredible new technological innovation that will allow very thin TV’s with a contrast ratio that is about 100 times greater than the ideal client LCD’s or Plasma’s on the marketplace right now, thanks to the truth that they have no backlight. An advantageous side note of this means they are extremely energy efficient. With tested response times of up to .01ms, which far exceed today’s very best. They are significantly brighter, with much more vivid colours than current TV’s too. The part that interested me is the interview with the Samsung spokesperson. He states that they are very price conscious and will not release an OLED TV until it is at a price level similar to an equal sized LCD TV. That may take a while as mass production facilities aren’t up and running yet. Even Sony has stated that mass manufacturing of OLED TV‘s will be a “challenge”. Enough from me, enjoy the video.
